当little和small都解释为“小”时，在用法上有什么区别吗

区别一：词义

small用来形容某人、某物尺寸小，几乎不带感情色彩。例如：

Do you have this shirt in a smaller size? 这件衬衫有小一点尺寸的吗？

little是个“感情丰富”的词，多用在口语中，带有喜欢、讨厌、怜惜等感情。例如：

What a poor little boy! 多可怜的小男孩啊！

What lovely little cakes! 好可爱的小蛋糕啊！

区别二：比较级和最高级

small的比较级和最高级分别是smaller和smallest。例如：

Her hands are even smaller than mine. 她的手比我的还要小。

The smallest child answered the phone. 最小的那个孩子接了电话。

little虽然有比较级和最高级less和least，但在表示“小”这一含义的时候很少用到。

区别三：副词修饰

small可以用quite、very、too等副词来修饰，表达“非常小”的意思。例如：

little则很少和这些副词搭配。

predition是不是可数名词

AFAIK there's no such word in English，英语根本没有 predition 这个词，只有：

predation 捕食 (不可数) = the act of preying

perdition 灭亡(不可数） = destruction, failure

prediction 预测，预言,预报 (可数）= prophecy, foretelling, prognosis, anticipation

in excitement和with excitement有什么区别吗

1、意思上的区别

in excitement：兴奋；激动地；激动。

with excitement：兴奋地。

2、用法上的区别

in excitement表示的是这个动作沉浸在这种情绪中。是兴奋当中，有一时冲动的含义。

with excitement表示的是情绪是这种状态，一般是名词。
